St. Michael & Mary Magdalene Church
During 2021 EPS were approached by St. Michael & Mary Magdalene Church with a view to overhauling their lighting system. Having live streamed their services during lockdown, and with an experienced in-house technician, the Church were looking for more than just a replacement – they wanted a wow factor, showcasing the church’s beautiful architecture, whilst retaining suitable lighting for streamed services, and improving the experience for the congregation.
For the architectural lighting, EPS drew from our extensive experience of lighting buildings for events, and specified the MARTIN Professional RUSH CS-series of LED battens. After demoing a loan unit, the church were sold on the CS-300’s capabilities.
A pair of Elation LED Fresnels with zoom functionality provided the face light for the broadcast feeds.
For the lighting for the congregation, EPS turned to partner electrical company Bojen to design and specify suitable fixtures and control. Using a Cassambi control system, and IntaLUX lighting fixtures, the ambient levels were significantly increased throughout the Church, whilst the current draw and electricity usage were reduced.
