Reigate Parish Church Primary School

Event Production Services (EPS) have recently completed a new audio and lighting installation for Reigate Parish Church Primary School.  An existing sound system comprising JBL Control 1 speakers wired from a domestic amplifier were no longer suitable for the school’s requirements.

Having taken advice from a consultant and produced a project brief, the school had a clear vision of their needs and timescale.  Everyday use of the system would be to improve the school assembly experience for the children, for presentations at parents evening, and to allow for the hall to generate income via external hires.  Additionally, the system needed to provide functionality for school productions such as plays and concerts.

EPS’s audio solution utilised a Cloud CX261 zone mixer to provide input selection and level control for day to day use, with a Soundcraft Ui16 digital mixer for larger scale productions and external hires. Sennheiser XSW radio microphone systems with Proel ‘flesh coloured’ headsets provide sources for plays and assemblies.  The school selected and purchased Yamaha DXR loudspeakers, which EPS installed as part of the scope of works.

EPS provided and installed three new internally wired lighting bars with DMX and PowerCon connections, and selected Martin RUSH PAR3 RGB fixtures to allow for the versatility of colour mixing and optional beam angles whilst remaining within the budget.  A ChamSys QuickQ10 console was specified to allow complete control of these fixtures as well as allowing scope for the rental of additional fixtures for larger productions.

Full training in both the audio and lighting set ups was provided by EPS Technicians as well as ongoing support.

Mrs Francis Davis, headteacher at the school, commented “The installation team worked very hard against some very tight deadlines and in their hard work they delivered on time. We are delighted with the new equipment as it has completely changed the audience’s experience during our Christmas nativity productions and Christmas Concerts.”

With the school children announcing the upgrade as ‘spectacular’ and awarding it ‘9.5 out of 10!’, the project was another successful installation for EPS.

EPS completed the project on budget and to deadline, despite only having three weeks from confirmation of order to completion date.
