A compact theatre with strong community links, Pegasus contacted EPS in 2018 to assist their outgoing Technical Manager and provide interim cover until a new TM was able to be appointed. After a period of ad-hoc support, the theatre elected to forego recruitment, instead signing a contract with EPS to provide Technical Management services.
The groundwork and formation of EPS’ Technical Management services had initially come from The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury, a similar performance space to Pegasus but with a different focus artistically. After several unsuccessful appointments for a TM, EPS put forward a proposal for an ongoing support contract, and a new department within EPS was formed: Venue Services.
At Pegasus, EPS are responsible for the advancing shows and liaising with incoming touring companies; for the ongoing service and maintenance of the venue’s equipment; booking casual technicians and maintaining the technician’s rota; and various educational elements.
Since adding Pegasus to our Venue Services customers, EPS have signed contracts with several Oxfordshire Schools for Technical Management services.
